Professional Tesla Preventative Maintenance and Repairs

With smooth handling, fast acceleration, and zero-emissions, Tesla cars are definitely the wave of the future. It’s easy to forget that they’re also sophisticated technology, so you’ll need to be careful not to let just anyone take a peek under the hood or even handle your body work!

That’s where European Service Center can come in handy.

Our professional service technicians are equipped to handle the full range of preventative maintenance and repair issues that you may require to keep your Tesla well-maintained and ready for the road.

Do Dallas Tesla Vehicles Require Preventative Maintenance?

Prior to 2019, Tesla required yearly maintenance in the form of one visit every 12 months or 12,500 miles - whichever came first. These days, preventative maintenance is done on a much looser ‘as-needed basis’.  While you’ll want to defer to your manual, we can give you the recommended services and their frequency below to give you a good idea of what to expect:

  • Air Conditioning Maintenance – Your Tesla vehicle will need routine A/C maintenance, which includes replacing the desiccant bag to help keep moisture from getting into the A/C system interior. This varies based on the model. For Tesla models S and X, this is done every 3 years, while models 3 and Y should have this done every 4 years. Cybertrucks are the most robust in this regard, requiring desiccant bag replacement only once every 8 years.
  • Brake Fluid Testing – While this will depend on your vehicle usage, your Tesla should have its brake fluid tested for contaminants at least once every 4 years or whenever the red brake fluid indicator flashes on your Tesla console.
  • Cabin Air Filter Replacement – Your Cabin Air Filter helps to keep things like road dust, pollen, and other environmental irritants outside of your Tesla where they belong! The filter does need to be replaced periodically, based on your particular model. For models 3 and Y, the filter should be replaced every 2 years, and models S and X require replacement every 3 years. Cybertruck models are exempt, as they have not been fitted with standard cabin air filters.
  • Seasonal Service – Your Tesla is fairly resistant to most climate conditions, but in the winter it is recommended that you have your brake calipers cleaned and lubricated every 12,500 miles so that they’ll be at their best when the roads are at their worst.
  • Tire Rotation – Tire rotation should be done every 6250 miles or whenever the tread depth is approaching a width of 2/32 inches or more.

No matter what your Tesla needs, our team has the solution you can count on.

Tesla FAQS

How long do Tesla cars last?

Life expectancy for your Tesla vehicle will depend a lot on how you treat it, but with proper preventative maintenance and care many owners enjoy their Tesla’s for well over a decade. That said, for the actual battery and drive unit, you’ll typically have a mile estimate that amounts to approximately 8 years of standard use before you’ll need to start replacing these core components.

How often do you need to charge Tesla?

Ideally, you should plug in your Tesla every evening to ensure that your battery is topped off and not constantly running at a low capacity. This helps to ensure that you’ll maximize your mileage and if your utility company offers reduced rates for overnight use, that can also save you a pretty penny!
